How to find official statistics with AI

Siftica helps you find official statistics with a question in your own words. This guide shows how to make the question specific and check the source.

Ask a question

From a question to a checked figure

  1. Ask a clear question State what you need to know, which place the question covers and which period you mean. You can write in your own words.

  2. Read the sourced answer Read the figure with its period and source citation. If the answer lacks the information you need, make the question more specific.

  3. Check the selection and dates Open the source table. Check the measure, unit, area and group. Read the notes. Keep the source update date separate from the date when the data was retrieved.

The difference from an AI answer without a source

An AI answer without a source does not show where the number comes from.

In Siftica, you can follow the citation to the source table and see the period. The source update date is shown when the source supplies one. The retrieval date is a different date. If the evidence is insufficient, you may need to make the question more specific.

Still, check the figure in the source before you use it.
